Tiki Taane is a New Zealand-based musician, experimentalist, musical activist, producer, and live engineer. He was a member of leading New Zealand band Salmonella Dub but left after 11 years on 1 January 2007 to pursue a solo career.

His debut solo album 'Past, Present & Future' went double platinum achieving a number one single, "Always On My Mind", which is the most successful single of all time in New Zealand!! Boom!

He's taken some time out to give us his top 5 local things to do and see.

My Top 5

  1. Record store - Vinyl Destination. A cool place to dig through records, check out all the quirky things, grab a hot drink & catch up with friends.

  2. Artist - Owen Dippie. I'm a huge fan of Owens art & have a few of his prints at home. I'm looking forward to rocking his new OD rings too which are out soon & look dope!

  3. Local beer - Mount Manuka Hussy from Mount Brewing Co. is the goods, especially at Dinner in the Domain on a hot summers night.

  4. Barbers - Faded on Cameron road is the bomb. Me & my son rock in there every few weeks to get our cuts & catch up with the awesome Faded kru.

  5. Matariki - celebrating the Maori new year & getting involved with some of the activities around Tauranga is great for learning more about this beautiful area. There are heaps of things to do, see, learn & be part of so get amongst it peeps!
